Do you really want to make a difference?
We are looking for sponsors, both individuals and groups or companies, who want to contribute in a bigger way.
For only NOK 60.000 you can provide a family with a brand new house. Sometimes we are able to find a co-sponsor in Norway or South Africa and you can be a co-sponsor for about NOK 30.000,-. The house will be simple, but considering that they come from a incredibly bad living condition, with just one room and no furnitures and no doors or windows, this new house will be a completely new life for them. The improvement is so severe, it can hardly be imagined for us who are used to a different way of living. At the same time, we build in a way that makes them able to keep the house and to maintain it. The houses we build will always be built in a co-operation with a local donor. The new house will have at least 2 bedrooms with doors and windows, a livingroom with kitchen facilities and an entrance door to keep strangers out. The house has electricity and in some rare cases, even water supply. The plot that the house is built on, will be owned by the Family that is given the houses, the plot given to them by the local chief.
To be given a house is considered a big advantage even for the rest of the local community or village. It means that there are someone who has seen them and who has seen their poor way of living and it gives them hope that there might come more. More sponsors and more houses. When a new house is being built, the whole village take part in it, help carry building materials and hang around to see the development.
In South Africa they love to give gifts and they love to show their appreciation. As a sponsor of a house, your name or company name will forever be on the outside wall, next to the front door, on a metal sign. A big honor for the sponsor and a real proof of appreciation from the family that got help.
