We invite High Schools (videregående skoler) to get in touch With us. We will then visit the Schools Student Council and tell you more about Our Project and we will make a contract on a long term co-operation.
Basically, it is all about a days work for every student, just like most Schools do through what is called “operasjon dagsverk” or “OD”. But that is all that is similar, the rest has significant differences.
The student Council, on behalf of the School and the students, deside together With us, what the School should spend Money on. This could be to build a New School or class room, a New kindergarden or maybe an orphanage. We will then, together With local authorities in Zululand and the Student Council, make a Budget for the Project including maintenance costs.
The students work for this purpose every year and whenever there is enough Money collected to make a New Project or to extend the Project that is already there – the student Council will make a formal desision on donating the Money for the agreed purpose and the budgjet will then include a visit for 2 People from the student Council to visit the Project when Completed.
Sogndal vidaregåande skule in Sogndal, Norway already have such a Project in Eshowe, Zululand. They have built a School called Joyway, and they have later extended the School With New class rooms, as they have been able to provide more Money and also as the Schools need has increased. This is just an example on how it can be done, but a great example to follow.
