Some days ago, our friends in Eshowe visited the home of Linsey where they had a meeting with the mother and father and explained what the sponsors intensions were. They were so happy to receive this good news and tears of joy just flowed down their faces.
As could be expected their conditions are not very good and down below are some photos of the very small house they live in which is actually just one room for Linsey, her baby sister, mother and father – no bedrooms or separate Kitchen.
The children were handed over the gifts that the sponsors bought for them before leaving South Africa and they were so excited as can be. With the Money the New sponsors donated, they were also getting a food Parcel, that were handed over to them. Some of the money was then used to assist Linsey in getting some special
medicine for treating her skin problem and it has been arranged with the local doctor to issue one perscription per month for continued treatment – for sure it will be helping.
A special bank account has now been opened for Linsey, with the mother as the legal account supervisor.
There have further been established that the immediate need for the family would be to replace the one window frame and door (+ R1500) which are in bad condition, especially since winter is approaching.
For future assistance and bearing in mind that the two children are growing up, one extra bedroom built onto the house would be a wonderful idea and help create better living conditions for them.
Our friends in South Africa has promised to pay frequent visits to the family and keep us and the sponsors updated on matters affecting them.
The sponsors have desided to send a monthly contribution to Linsey and her Family, all handled by Children of Zululand. Thank you so much to the new sponsors for being so kind towards Linsey, her little sister, mother and father.
